Nathalie: Good for you girl. I can remember a time when I weighed 130 and I still thought I was fat. Now after 2 children I am up to 187 pounds. People tell me I carry it well but it still drives me insane. Atleast you had the willpower to lose weight already. I am so weak I set up goals and then after awhile I get lazy and give up . Good Luck to you I am sure you will succeed when you've come so far already!

Christmas Challenge

  • Weather: Sunny and Chilly
A member at Weight Watchers online posted a Christmas challenge that I like. I decided to give it a go.....it could only benefit me. I have a hard time getting myself motivated to exercise, so starting a challenge will help me to retain some desire to get something accomplished.

Here are the details of the challenge:
In addition to our normal exercise routine, we will do the following:

1. 100 Crunches in increments of 25
2. 100 Push ups in increments of 25
3. 100 Lunges in increments of 25
4. 100 Squats in increments of 25

THESE CAN BE DONE ALL AT ONCE OR 25/50 AT A TIME.

PUSH-UPS CAN BE DONE ON THE FLOOR OR AGAINST THE WALL.

Each day I will list the requirements for our challenge posted as questions:
1. Did you earn AP's
2. How many AP's
3. Situps? (how many)
4. Crunches? (how many)
5. Lunges? (how many)
6. Squats? (how many)

I've simply got to get more motivated. Of course, it doesn't help when I have to fix our meals differently. I can get away with making some low-fat, low calorie meals, but some of them I've found will NOT be eaten by my clan. I'm not a fan of making two meals, but sometimes it just has to be. I can't live on spaghetti and sandwiches alone.

Weight Loss

  • Mood: Tired
  • Weather: Sunny and Chilly
Losing weight has never been easy for me, and from what I see from people on the streets it must not be easy for them either. It's absolutely incredible to realize how heavy I am. In my mind, I see myself as the 125 pound college girl. But that's not true, and it's so hard to make myself do what I know I should do. I used to be rail-thin...well, not exactly that small, but I had the perfect body....up until I turned 20. I was in college and the weight started packing on, in spite of my activity. When I started taking birth control pills a couple of months before I was married, I gained weight quickly. About 30 pounds resulted in 9 months alone from the time I started taking the pill. Six months into my marriage, I weighed 155....that was an incredible jump from the wedding day when I weighed 130. Of course, having children also increased that weight gain, and I just managed to not lose the pregnancy weight like I wanted to. Now, after my 2nd child, I have lost the pregnancy weight, but I want to keep going this time and get my weight down to when I was in college. So, that means around 70 pounds needs to come off, and for GOOD! Thinking about losing that seems like an unreachable goal, but then I look all over the internet at all of the people who've lost 50-100-even as much as 300 pounds at times, and I think "Why can't I do this? There's no reason I shouldn't be able to succeed too.

Thanks for visiting!

This is my first post on this journal....I'm trying to figure out how it all works.  The gist of this journal is to help me stay motivated and stick with the goal that I have, which obviously is to lose weight. If any of you have any weight loss tips or advice (positive, mind you!), feel free to give it.
